When I was younger, back when we still lived as half tenents in this commercial property in london, I had a dog crossbred with a ridgeback and a golden retriever. Now this is an excellent breed as a watchdog and this type of animal will defend you or your family with its life. Our dog’s name was Raka and we all loved him as part of our family. Raka had his own personality and while we stayed on the farm he really enjoyed to run freely, he was well exercised and we did not even need to train him. It seems this dog was very special since he completely understood everything. When you talked to Raka he would turn those soulful eyes of him on you as if he wanted to answer you. Sometime he will put his paw on my shoulder when I cry, yes, we loved him so very much.
Raka loved to swim and watch movies afterwards and although I know its not healthy he did love icecream and something sweet to eat. Actually he ate what we children ate, beside from his daily dietary supplies and dog bones which my dad bought from the local butcher! Lying on the couch early evenings or before the fireplace on an old rug, we became so used to him. Whenever my parents was not there he was protecting us and nobody could enter our home without Raka’s strict permission. Yes, our dog was highly intelligent and very strong. Every six months we took him for vaccinations and we even took out a dog insurance policy on him just to insure that whenever he got sick we can easily take him to the vet for consultations.
Dog insurance is just an easier way to manage whenever you need to take you dog to the vet and most if the time it happens when you dont have a cent on you. I highly recommend that you do see a broker for your pet’s insurance cause this is only an investment to your pet’s health.
Raka got sick one day and we took him to the nearest vet in town. It was his heart and his age counting against him. We brought him home with his medication but things were never the same again as he had to go for check-ups every month.
After three months he died unexpectedly during the evening and our hearts were broken. He have lost an excellent mate and member to our family and we had a funeral service for Raka on our farm.
We will never forget him and still have some pictures of him till this day!
