Feeding a raw diet to your Cat

If you decide you want to go through the effort of home-cooking for your cat and feeding her a raw diet, you should know the following:

  1. As carnivores cats need animal protein of about 60%. The best proteins are found in raw or cooked ground beef, chicken, turkey, and other meats.
  2. Add a tablespoon of organ meat twice a week.
  3. 20% of the feline diet should consist of vegetables. Use the broth from boiling the organs to steam the veggies. Steam some carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, whatever your cat favors.
  4. Another 20% goes to the grains. Cooked brown rice is most digestible grain food out there.
  5. Other supplements should be:
  • General Cat Multi Vitamins and Minerals.
  • Sufficient Amino Acids
  • Vitamin E and A twice a week
  • 250 mg Vitamin C daily
